Researching the Paine Family

8th July 2019

Sophie Stewart:

I fear I may be 6 years too late and this post may not be seen but I was thrilled to see these messages! My husband Stephen is a Paine and John is his direct ancestor. However I would love to find out more about his New England relatives, so Phillippa your research is fascinating. However I have researched all the Paines that went to New England which are well documented but I just cannot seem to find John among them so any light you could shed on this would be very gratefully received. Also my husband's grandfather on his mother's side is also descended from Puritans who also came back from America so he has New England routes on both sides.

Anyway, I am sending this with hope into the ether and would love to hear from any Paines ...

With all best wishes,

Sophie Stewart

Ebony Church Soldiers

25th October 2014

Ivor Body:

I wonder if anyone has any idea who one or two of the soldiers might be on the photo held by Tenterden Museum. D J Body is one of my cousins and directly related, as a sister to Arthur/Edward/ Margery Body who's wall plaques are in the church and the special bible dedicated to Margery. I cannot put a photo on here but it is on http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=703285.msg5462558#msg5462558
The school was in the Gibbet Oak Tenterden.

Payne (Paine) Family

28th August 2014

Christopher Coleman:

John Payne (1673 - 1729) was married to Catherine Pratt (1665 - 1725) and they were both buried in Ebony (a beautiful church). They were my wife's 7x great grandparents.

On John's burial transcript it says he was of Pix's Farm, but I can't find any information about this farm.

Can anyone help?
